A week of Regional Colombian Cuisine July 15 to 21
On Monday, July 15, Chef Rafael Suarez arrived from Bogota to present some of his favorite dishes at the InterContinental at Doral Miami. During his one week official and exclusive visit to Miami, the guest Chef is preparing Colombian specialties from the various regions at the hotel’s Armillary Grill.
The Armillary Grill will offer a special dinner buffet Monday to Friday, a three-course dinner on Saturday night, and a Sunday brunch featuring the Chef’s Colombian creations. Chef Suarez specializes in a fresh and healthy approach to the typical, hearty Colombian food, while giving it a gourmet touch without deviating from its traditional roots.
Chef Suarez has over 13 years of experience as executive chef in the hospitality industry, working for major international hotel brands in Colombia and South America. He is certified in kosher cuisine, practices concept cooking, and has travelled extensively throughout the different regions of Colombia.
The InterContinental at Doral Miami has already hosted a handful of foreign affairs, most notably Chef Josefina “La Pepa” Molina from Spain and Chef Liu from Taiwan, returning for his second year to the Armillary Grill, and most recently an Italian dinner and wine pairing. The InterContinental at Doral Miami has a growing reputation for its international culinary showcases. The restaurant is also preparing for a Mexican and Central American culinary festival this fall, which is expected to feature guest chefs and food from Mexico and various countries in Central America.
