South Florida’s “Pop Up” Disco brings Boomers back to the dance floor on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 8 p.m. to midnight, at John Martin’s Irish Pub in Coral Gables.
Deejays at the inaugural Pop Up Disco played dance floor favorites of the Disco era, as well as the rock classics that kept everybody moving.
One Pop Up participant commented, “Every once in a while, something comes along that makes you say, ‘finally!’ How many nights have you wanted something to do besides go to dinner — or wanted to dance, but had nowhere to go? Now we can disco the first Saturday of every month.”
As the event grows, it will “pop up” in different venues across South Florida. September’s event will be at JohnMartin’s Irish Pub, 253 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables. Public parking lots are located at 220 Aragon Ave and 245 Andalusia Ave. Tickets to the event are $15 and include one well drink. Tickets (cash only) will be available at the door on event night.
Each month, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local charity. The Sept. 6 event benefits The Alzheimer’s Association of South Florida.
