The little ghosts and goblins of the Town of Cutler Bay had plenty to howl about on Saturday, Oct. 27, when Old Cutler Towne Center hosted a thrilling Halloween event and costume contest.
Crowds of trick-or-treating youngsters and their families visited the shopping center where tenants were handing out sweets. Additionally, representatives from the shopping hub set up a spooky costume-contest booth. With more than 50 contestants, entrants ranged from one-of-a-kind homemade ensembles and Disney princesses, to terrifying monsters and mummies.Choosing the winners was no easy task for the judges, but after much deliberation, the panel awarded first place (and a $150 prize) to Felipe Clavijo, who dressed as a Wii controller; second place (and a $100 prize) to Jorge Salazar, who came as a hiphop robot, and third place (and a $50 prize) to Emily Figueroa, who donned a fang-tastic vampire costume.
