Volunteers of all ages help pack more than 116,000 meals.

Hundreds of volunteers of all ages came together at Christ Fellowship Church on Saturday, July 26, to pack more than 116,000 meals for families in need this summer.

Christ Fellowship currently feeds more than 650 students in Miami-Dade County as part of its Backpack Program. Volunteers plan to feed at least 1,000 students for the 2014-15 school year.

The church works with multiple public schools around Miami-Dade to identify students who will benefit from being provided a backpack full of food every Friday afternoon for the weekend. It costs approximately $200 to feed one student every weekend for an entire school year.
