The Exhibit Evening on Wednesday, Dec. 17, will feature three exhibits currently on display at the Deering Estate at Cutler: The Deering Holiday Wonderland, Youth Arts Exhibit and the Outdoor Bird- House Build & Design Exhibit. The exhibit evening is from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and is open free to the public.
DEERING HOLIDAY WONDERLAND
The Holiday Wonderland is an annual tradition and a special project curated by local garden clubs and community organizations in which the historic houses are adorned with holiday decorations.
Currently on display daily through Dec. 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; note that the Deering Estate is closed on Christmas Day.
YOUTH ARTS EXHIBIT
The Youth Arts Exhibit is a community collaboration in which creative and diverse works by student artists (Grades K-12) and Youth Ceramics from the Ceramic League of Miami are displayed in one of Miami-Dade’s cultural landmarks, the Deering Estate at Cutler. Currently on display daily through Jan. 29, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., note that the Deering Estate is closed on Christmas Day.
OUTDOOR BIRDHOUSE BUILD & DESIGN
Partnering with Miami-Dade College’s Dr. Lyle Culver and his Architecture History, Design and Landscape Construction classes, and community students, the estate will showcase an outdoor exhibition of speciallydesigned functional and historically themed birdhouses. Currently on display daily through Jan. 29, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; note that the Deering Estate is closed on Christmas Day.
