Peter Pinto and Dr. Yenile Pinto founded Deering Dental, located conveniently on Old Cutler Road, in March.

The word “enjoyable” is seldom used when describing a typical trip to the dentist, but Deering Dental, founded by Dr. Yenile Pinto and Peter Pinto, is anything but typical.

The unconventional practice employs a unique combination of ultramodern techniques, comforting aesthetics and salon style care to ensure that clients feel both healthier and refreshed when they finish their visit.

“We want our patients to feel pampered and make their experience at our office as pleasant as possible,” Dr. Pinto said. “My goal with having my own practice was to get to know my patients and get them to where they want to be in terms of their dental needs in the most comfortable environment possible.”

Deering Dental offers a full list of cosmetic services like veneers, whitening, Invisalign and short-term braces; preventative techniques like regular exams, cleanings and periodontal therapy, and restorative techniques such as fillings, root canal therapy, crowns and bridges.

However, it’s their innovative approaches to oral care, inimitable atmosphere and compassionate financing options that differentiate them from other practices.

First time patients, whose visits can be streamlined through all-digital online forms that eliminate almost all paperwork, should expect to spend an hour with the doctor personalizing their plans using intra-oral cameras, laser cavity detection and a digital xray machine which produces up to 90 percent less radiation than conventional x-rays.

Routine treatments are performed with care and precision, but for more intense treatments Deering Dental combines their Gentle Touch therapy, which uses a topical cream-based anesthetic, and the Dental Vibe, a twopronged vibrating probe that creates strong pulses which stimulate the nerve endings, essentially eliminating pain altogether.

The office boasts soothing aesthetics and luxurious amenities. Art and photography depicting Old Miami — including vintage postcards from the 1920s and ‘30s Hialeah, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove and Downtown — hang from the walls amid contemporary décor and seating. For those waiting there is a complimentary beverage bar, Wi-Fi and a play area for children. Patients can enjoy pillows and blankets, inroom flat screen TVs with on-demand entertainment, Bose headphones and are given a scented towel to clean off with at the end of their visits.

Several flexible financing options are available. H3 Wellness Financing for nointerest and low-interest monthly payment plans is a great option for bigger treatments that can’t be paid for entirely at once. For uninsured patients, there’s “Deering Plus,” a membership plan that covers cleanings and x-rays and entitles members to discounted care and cosmetics for one annual fee that has no maximum or deductible.

“What we do is all about creating a positive and comfortable experience for the patient,” Dr. Pinto said. “We want to not just provide the dentistry that you need, but the dentistry that you want. Patients tell us every day that they’ve never had an experience like the one they’ve had here — that they’ve never been to an office like this. We use state-of-the-art equipment and techniques, but we’re going about business in a much more old-school manner where you’re not just a number; we genuinely care about you.”

Dr. Yenile Pinto graduated first in her class from Monsignor Edward Pace High School in Miami Gardens and subsequently attended the University of Miami on a full academic scholarship, graduating cum laude in only three years with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry.

She then enrolled in New York University Dental School on academic scholarship. Returning to Miami, she worked for several practices while honing her craft until March, when she and her husband, Peter, opened Deering Dental. She currently sits on the board of the Riviera Dental Club as secretary and belongs to the American Dental Association, Miami-Dade Dental Society and Florida Dental Association.

Deering Dental is currently raising funds for Manny Alvarez, a family friend, who was recently diagnosed with Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma (ASPS), a rare and aggressive form of cancer. With his insurance refusing to pay for treatment, Alvarez’s family is paying out of pocket. The Pintos have donated 2 percent of their July profits to his care.

Deering Dental is located at 16709 Old Cutler Rd. For more information, call 786- 577-4185 or visit www.Deering-Dental.com.
