Summer draws to a close with special events and meetings

Quite a splash! In case you missed it, more than 400 town residents and visitors participated in the town sponsored special event, The First Annual Summer Pool Party, on August 1, at Cutler Ridge Park. The admission was free and there was music, free food and drinks, and fun activities like a hula hoop contest for the kids. “Splash in the Bay” sounds like a winner that should return again next year.

Don’t get a ticket for this event! The Town of Cutler Bay will have a Red Light Camera Special Magistrate Hearing on August 18 at 9:00 a.m. in the town’s Community Room, 10720 Caribbean Blvd., Suite 220, in Cutler Bay. For info about this call Town Hall at 305-234-4262.

Double feature. On August 19 there will be a Town Council Budget Workshop at 3:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 10720 Caribbean Blvd., and then at 7:00 p.m. there will be the regular monthly Town of Cutler Bay Council Meeting at the same location. Council meetings are held every third Wednesday of the month. Again, for info call 305-234-4262.

Speak your mind! Politely, please. The town is having its next “Open Mic Night” onAugust 26 at 7:00 p.m. at the East Ridge Retirement Village Auditorium, 19301 SW 87 Avenue, Cutler Bay. It’s an official public Town Hall style meeting with a less formal approach to allow residents to voice their concerns to the Council in a more comfortable setting. The Mayor and Town Council encourage all residents to seize this opportunity to speak with them and pose any questions they have. All participants are being asked to be mindful and respectful of their time and opinions, and those of other participants. Also keep in mind that this is a public Town Hall meeting and will be audio recorded. For information, contact Town Manager Rafael G. Casals at 305-234-4262 or visit the website at www.cutlerbay-fl.gov. If you’d rather submit your questions, comments or concerns in writing, please feel free to email them to info@cutlerbay-fl.gov or mail them to Town Hall, Attn: Rafael G. Casals, Town Manager, 10720 Caribbean Blvd., Suite 105, Cutler Bay, Florida 33189.
