Discovering DesignBring the family to The Wolfsonian for a day devoted to inspiring invention and tinkering. Create a mechanical sculpture out of cardboard with local artist Kerry Phillips. Watch Mr. Peabody & Sherman, a film that explores the unexpected results of the world’s most innovative dog, and special screening of the short Benny and Jack’s Flying Machine. Then unlock The Wolfsonian’s collection with one of our family gallery guides.

Workshop Artist: Kerry Phillips has shown extensively in Miami including projects with Locust Projects, Miami Art Museum, Art & Culture Center of Hollywood, Girls’ Club Collection, and Bridge Red Studios Project Space. In 2010 she won Best in Show at the Boca Raton Museum of Art’s annual All Florida juried exhibition. She has received grants for her art making from public and private organizations as well as residencies and shows in Vermont, New York, North Carolina, Berlin, Krakow, and France. Phillips lives and works in Miami with her dog, Tonta. Her current studio is at the Fountainhead Studio complex in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami.
