Oh lala…Le Bouchon du Grove in Miami

For French cuisine in Miami, there’s an iconic, tiny and artful place in Coconut Grove; like a painting on the wall, Le Bouchon contributes to the beautiful, unique and bohemian shape of Coconut Grove streets.

Miami, FL 33133

Owned by a French couple, the servers speak French as well. A delicate, small and exquisite menu features breakfast, lunch and dinner. My favorite time to come here is during breakfast time, but be warned: try to come before 10 am during the weekend if you want to get a table; this place gets crowded! The customer service is friendly and nice; I love the fact that they serve you fresh baguette, butter and a delicious homemade marmalade. Ask for café au lait (milk and coffee), which is a generous cup of delicious fresh coffee and regular milk.

I’d love to stick to the bread, marmalade, butter and café au lait since it’s the classic French breakfast but I just can’t come to Le Bouchon without getting an omelet or eggs Benedict. These dishes are available only during the weekends and are made to perfection. They really know how to make excellent eggs Benedict. The sauce is light but loaded with flavor and texture; portion is perfect, not too big or too small.

Another delicious breakfast staple is the pancakes. I love the banana pancakes or you can get them plain, served with powder sugar and caramel…mmm, a dream for any pancake lover. My favorite omelet comes with cheese and jam, very simple and easy but done perfectly; the secret here is that everything is done well with no over seasoning. The portions are fair; it’s not the typical diner that serves too much of everything and nothing tastes the way it’s supposed to. Prices are a little high in my opinion but it’s totally worth the adventure. It’s the perfect place for a romantic encounter or just to chat with friends and appreciate the good cuisine.

I have also been to Le Bouchon for lunch. Their salads are amazing; an art piece from the kitchen to the table. If you’d like to experience some amazing cuisine from a country not typically represented in Miami, Le Bouchon is waiting for you.
