Florida Film Institute (FFI) is excited to announce a summer partnership for the fourth year with the Coral Gables Cinemateque (CGC). CINEMA, a film education summer camp will be held at the CGC’s Coral Gables Art Cinema, located at 260 Aragon Avenue in Coral Gables, from June 16 to July 24, 2014. FFI will give students the opportunity to focus on essential and practical aspects of commercial motion picture production, including script preparation, cinematography, lighting, sound recording, directing, acting and music. The program will feature instruction by South Florida Film Industry professionals.
“We are very excited to present this series of filmmaking workshops for teens in the South Florida community,” said Stephanie Martino, Founder and President of FFI. “CINEMA does an excellent job of teaching the basics of filmmaking, and provides the unique opportunity of creating a film.”
Registration is available online at www.flfilminstitute.org and will end on June 4, 2014. The total camp fee for six weeks is available at a reduced rate of $595.00. FFI is able to offer this discounted fee to each participant because of the generosity of our sponsors. If not for their help the regular fee would be $1,660 per student. This year we are able to offer 3 full scholarships to students in need of financial assistance. In order to apply for the scholarship you will need to call the office by May 30, 2014. All applicants will be notified by June 4, 2014 if they have been granted a scholarship for the program. Scholarships are available for Dade County residents only.
