Hines, the leasing and property manager for 2555 Ponce in Coral Gables, recently announced that the esteemed South Florida minority-owned law firm of Rasco Klock Perez & Nieto PL has signed a long-term lease and will occupy a full penthouse floor, comprising more than 13,000 square feet of space, in the six-story LEED Silver office building.

Jorge Barbontin and Kate Fernandez- Espinosa from Hines represented the ownership and Orlando Abella of Greater Miami Investments represented the tenant in lease negotiations. Completion of the build out and occupancy are slated for May.

Rasco Klock Perez & Nieto PL is led by Ramon E. Rasco, an accomplished banking, corporate, and real estate lawyer who has been involved with many start-up banks and entrepreneurial emerging companies, as well as for his charitable work and community involvement.

It also is led by one of South Florida’s premier litigators, Joseph P. Klock Jr., who notably litigated two successful arguments in the Supreme Court of the United States that resulted in President Bush succeeding in his bid for the White House in 2000.

Rasco Klock Perez Nieto was included in the U.S. News and World Report 2014 “Best Law Firms” list, which recognizes firms for professional excellence with persistently impressive ratings from clients and peers. The firm also was selected for Fortune magazine’s 2013 list of “Top Ranked Law Firms” in the United States. Nearly half of Rasco Klock Perez Nieto’s lawyers have been recognized for their legal excellence by independent third parties such as Chambers, Best Lawyers in America, Super

Lawyers, the South Florida Legal Guide and Top Lawyers, as well as its extensive pro bono and community service activities.

“The building’s central location and excellent quality were the main selling points,” Rasco said. “2555 Ponce provides an excellent platform for us to service our clientele in the region.”

The owners also were pleased with Rasco Klock’s choice.

“We are pleased to welcome such an esteemed firm to our building. Rasco Klock will receive the prestige of a single floor tenant with a penthouse floor,” Barbontin said.

Situated two blocks south of Miracle Mile at the intersection of Ponce de Leon Boulevard and Valencia Avenue, 2555 Ponce is a 95,161 rentable-square-foot multi-tenant office building in Coral Gables. Originally built in 1957 and later expanded in 1977, 2555 Ponce once served as headquarters for the Coral Gables Federal, which is now Wells Fargo Bank. The building is completing a $2.1 million capital improvement program that includes installing energy efficient windows, and upgrading the lobby and other common areas and corridors with Class-A finishes.

New and existing amenities at the building include: a Wells Fargo Bank; Fleming’s white tablecloth steakhouse; Sacha’s café and deli; courtyard with complimentary Wi-Fi; onsite carwash; courier dry cleaning service; conference facilities, and a newly renovated executive fitness center.
