As part of the Development Agreement between the City of Coral Gables and the University of Miami, Coral Gables residents are invited to attend a free concert by the Frost Wind Ensemble. The concert, which is part of Festival Miami, takes place on Sunday, Oct. 7, 3:15 p.m., at the Gusman Concert Hall, 1314 Miller Dr. on the campus of the University of Miami.

Gary Green, director of bands, brings the Frost Wind Ensemble to powerful new heights as it premieres Percussion Concerto by Pulitzer Prize-winner Jennifer Higdon, spotlighting formidable percussionist Svet Stoyanov. The ensemble also performs the newly commissioned Point Blank by fast-rising contemporary composer Paul Dooley.

Meet the composers during a pre-concert Q&A and be among the first to hear the fiery new works. Tickets for this concert will be distributed in person at the War Memorial Youth Center, 405 University Dr., no earlier than Thursday, Aug. 23. Residents must show proof of residential address. Tickets are limited to two per household.
