Florida Center For Allergy & Asthma Care (FCAAC) has been awarded by the New York-based International Academy of Visual Arts, as the recipient of its 2013 W³ Award, honoring creative excellence in website design.
The W³ is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of Visual Arts (IAVA), an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, interactive, advertising and marketing firms. IAVA members include executives from organizations such as AvatarLabs, Big Spaceship, Block Media, Condé Nast, Coach, Disney, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Estée Lauder, Fry Hammond Barr, Microsoft, MTV Networks, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Victoria’s Secret, Wired, Yahoo! and many others.
In its 8th year, the W³ Award received more than 4,000 entries from ad agencies public relations firms, interactive agencies, in-house creative professionals, web designers, graphic designers and web enthusiasts. A combined 37 firms were awarded in categories including website, video, marketing, social and mobile.
Entries are judged on a standard of excellence according to the category entered. FCAAC entered into several categories including heath care services, user experience and visual appeal.
“Our goal was to design a website to better serve our guests and patients. Winning this award proves we are on track to achieve our business goals, strengthening partnership with clients through clearer visibility of our brand and social interaction,” said Nina Sinisterra, Director of Marketing & Business Development.
FCAAC hired Andrés Fernandez & Sarimá Gracia partners of their Miami-based creative firm, A+S Ideas Studio, to redesign its website which was launched mid-May 2013. The focus of the redesign was visual appeal for visitors and patients to enhance the impact and effectiveness of their site’s vital allergy and asthma content. Redesign also included more user-friendly features, easier social media interaction, and the implementation of Responsive Web Design which allows the lay out to change according to the device from which it is being viewed (i.e. various computer screen sizes, tablets, mobile phones, etc.)
In a press release announcing its winners this year, Linda Day, Director of the IAVA said she was amazed at the caliber and quality of the work received this year. “Our winners continue to push the envelope of Internet creative and web design and it’s gratifying to see such great work from the smallest agencies to the biggest firms.”
