Finding the best brow lift approach

12091-637966.jpg.pagespeed.ce_.pGY65KzZE5Dr. Wolf, I went to see a doctor because I feel my brows are very droopy. I have a very large forehead and he told me that the only way he could perform the surgery was to do an endoscopic forehead lift. Because of my large forehead, I’m worried. Can you tell me if this is true and what my options are?

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “there is more than one way to skin a cat.” In this case, there is more than one way to operate on a patient. Your concerns about having a large forehead with this procedure are correct. If this physician would have performed an endoscopic forehead lift to elevate your brows one centimeter, it also would have elevated your hairline by one centimeter.

You have several options to improve your brow and forehead. You can lift the forehead by injecting Botox or Dysport. Using Botox or Dysport will give you a lift that will last approximately three to four months and will not change your hairline position. You have to find a physician who is competent with this technique, as it is not routinely done.

If you want something more permanent, you can get a direct brow lift. This procedure is done by making an incision above the eyebrow and removing skin. This is an effective way to do a brow lift; however, it has some drawbacks that should be discussed with your physician.

The last technique, which could be very effective in your case, is to make an incision directly on the hairline, allowing you to lift the brow without changing the hairline. There is slight risk of minor scarring or a receding hairline in the future. Before you do any procedure, you should consult with two physicians and evaluate their recommendations. This will help you decide your best option.
