The GFWC Coral Gables Woman’s Club recently received another large grant from the Dr. John T. Macdonald Foundation for the club’s May Van Sickle Dental Clinic. This year the grant was increased to $35,000, up $5,000 from 2012. As funding is becoming tight for so many nonprofits, this generous increase was certainly much needed and appreciated.
Over the years, the Dr. John T. Macdonald Foundation has provided critically needed funds for this clinic that is housed in the historic former Coral Gables Library at 1009 E. Ponce De Leon Blvd. adjacent to the clubhouse. This past year, the clinic provided Miami Dade County children in need with more than $237,615 in free dental care.
For more information on the clinic now open year round on Mondays, Tuesday and Saturdays, call 305-448-6536.
