Close to 250 people gathered at the Coral Gables Museum for a unique evening that celebrated art, music and the Sister Cities of Coral Gables and Pisa, Italy.

Co-sponsored by Classical South Florida 89.7, guest enjoyed great food with champagne and wine that flowed throughout the evening. Artist Flor Mayoral greeted guests in the Robert and Marian Fewell Gallery where her exhibit of photographs, “Pisa/Coral Gables Imagined Cities 2013” was on display. The exhibit was curated by Chloe Chelz.

“It is a joy to present music and art together for this special occasion celebrating the sister cities of Pisa, Italy and Goral Gables, Florida,” said Néstor Rodriguez, president of CSF, in welcoming everyone.

Adding a special welcome note, Christine Rupp, executive director of the Museum, spoke about the evening’s contribution to the museum’s ongoing celebration of 2013 “The Year of Italian Culture.”

The highlight of the evening was an explosive piano concerto by Serbian pianist Misha Dacic, who played on a Steinway Grand Piano, provided by Steinway & Sons of Coral Gables.
