CELEBRATE ST. PATRICK’S DAY WITH THE IRISH AT JOHNMARTIN’S IRISH PUB & RESTAURANT

St. Patrick's Day FestivalThe original St. Patrick’s Celebration at JohnMartin’s is back again for its’ 23rd year. The iconic pub and restaurant that changed Coral Gables’ spirit industry forever, will be hosting a variety of themed activities in honor of their favorite holiday. Attendees can visit the completely authentic Irish restaurant covered with festive decorations all weekend long.

“We are excited to throw another St. Patrick’s Day celebration at our Irish getaway,” said Martin Lynch, co-owner of JohnMartin’s. “The celebration started 23 years ago and it has become the place for those who are Irish and for those who are just Irish for the day.”

To get into the holiday spirit, St. Patrick’s Day enthusiasts can celebrate with the following:

March 16 – 17 2014:

• St. Patrick’s Day Themed Menu: Visitors can experience a taste of Ireland while being surrounded by furniture and collections imported from Dublin. Some of the menu highlights will be their notorious Chicken Wings prepared with a Guinness Honey glaze and Gaelic Steak aside a Bushmills Whiskey Mushroom Sauce. More of the traditional dishes include beer battered Fish & Chips served with mushy peas, tender Corned Beef Sandwich, savory Bangers and Mash coated with onion gravy and a timeless Beef and Guinness Stew. Guests can complete their dinner with a taste of decadence and treat themselves to a warm Apple Crumb Pie, Irish Bread Pudding or their famous homemade Bailey’s Ice Cream. The menu will be offered all day Monday and Sunday after 2 p.m.

• Irish Brunch: From 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. kick-off the morning with an Ireland-inspired Brunch Buffet accompanied by live music from Paddy Kelleghan. Some of the classics that will be offered are Irish breakfast pudding, Corned Beef and Cabbage, Fish and Chips and their famous Shepherd’s Pie. Traditional breakfast items will also be available at the station. For something sweet, dessert lovers can try their homemade Irish Sherry Trifle, Irish Bread Pudding or Irish Whiskey Brownies and more. Brunch costs $24.50 per person or $27.50 including a bloody Mary, mimosa or Bushmills Irish coffee.

• Open Mic Contest: The Miracle Mile gem will also debut a special contest during their “Open Mic Night.” In exchange for creating the most original Irish song, the winner will receive a cash prize of $250.00, courtesy of JohnMartin’s. The runner-up will win $100.00 and the third prize is for $50.00. The contest is open to any songwriter or motivated partier over the age of 21 years old.

• St. Patrick’s Day: To officially celebrate St. Patrick, thrill seekers are welcomed to join the genuine pub & restaurant as they party all day long. Guests can stay entertained by a bagpiper from 12- 2 p.m. as they try a taste of Ireland from the special holiday themed menu. To keep the spirit alive, a live band will be performing at 3 p.m. After work, the rest of Miami is encouraged to sport their finest green wardrobe and continue to cheer at the Coral Gables landmark. A Live DJ will be spinning from 9 p.m. until close and the St. Patrick’s Day menu will be available until 11 p.m.
