BNI Miami-Dade focuses on giving back to community

More than 400 members of BNI Miami-Dade, a regional chapter of BNI, recently gathered for one of its most important meetings of the year at the prestigious Coral Gables Country Club.

BNI Miami-Dade hosts a biannual leadership training conference for the newly elected officers in each of its 30 chapters representing a total of more than 950 members. In addition to strategic planning, BNI Miami-Dade leaders discussed innovative ways for their individual chapters to give back to the South Florida community.

“The greatest part of success is being able to share it with others…giving back to our community in a very real and tangible way,” Jeff Stay said. “Living the BNI Core Philosophy which is ‘Givers Gain’ means doing so on every level and this includes giving to our local community.”

BNI Miami-Dade hosted its fifth annual Family Day with the Florida Marlins on May 8 at Sun Life Stadium. Aportion of the proceeds will benefit the National Parkinson Foundation. During the past six years, BNI has helped raise significant funds and awareness for the Family Resource Center, Big City Mountaineers, Mount Sinai Medical Center, ALS Recovery, and Miami Lighthouse for the Blind.

All BNI members holding a chapter leadership position at Leadership Training to learn about their roles, create a sixmonth chapter success plan, and network with their peers. Also in attendance were the 23 members of BNI’s newest chapter, BNI Revival launched in Sunny Isles Beach in April.

A group of professionals who realized word-of-mouth marketing was the most effective way to grow their businesses formed BNI Miami-Dade in Coral Gables in 1998. Since then, the organization has grown to more than 950 members and hosts weekly meetings for its 30 chapters in Miami, Miami Beach, Coral Gables, Brickell, Kendall, Coconut Grove, Aventura, North Miami, Doral, Dadeland, Pinecrest, South Miami and Homestead. Last year, BNI Miami-Dade passed 53,000 qualified referrals generating $40 million in member-to-member business.

The Coral Gables Country Club hosted BNI’s three-day Leadership Training conference. The renowned landmark recently reopened after completing $3 million in renovations that included dramatic upgrades to it meeting spaces that can accommodate up to 1,000 people.

“The newly renovated CGCC provided outstanding service and met every request we made,” Adam Max said. “Our 400 members were able to gain full value from the training while enjoying attentive and unobtrusive impeccable service from the staff.”

  1. Jeff Stay's wife worked for Scott Rothstein why doesn't he reimburse all the money that he and his wife stole! I cannot believe he has the nerve to show his face and stress community service. Nothing but a crook and buddy of Rothstein. Farce, Fraud, Fake.

  2. Jeff Stay, Scott Rothstein's firm's chief relationship officer! Also Jeff's wife was named in the law suit since she was Rothstein's partner in crime. BNI should ban him for the organization. All he does is hype his pyramid schemes and speaking engagements. Its all public record. Just google Jeff Stay and Scott Rothstein! Freedom of Speech

  3. BNI is a selfish organization. It does not allow members to participate in other networking leads group. Its Soup Nazi style attitude for attendance and demanding production of leads promotes a deceptive atmosphere.

    BNI is expensive, non-productive, and communistic!

I learned how to be a better networker, a better speaker and a better businessman, The members have always been welcoming and generous.   6. BNI is more than referrals. It is about relationships. The relationships I have made in BNI are invaluable. It is undoubtedly the best thing to happen to my business.

Apparently some people are simply out for themselves and don't understand the philosophy of "Giver's Gain" … BNI is about building profitable relationships which will in turn lead to personal, professional and financial success for both yourself and the other members in your chapter. This does not / will not / can not happen overnight and so people that are selfish, lazy or in need of instant gratification should look for other ways to grow their business.
