Members of the South Florida community are invited to attend Fashion Scene Miami on October 17, 2013 benefiting Starlight Children’s Foundation Florida. As part of Starlight’s 30th anniversary celebration, the organization is hosting a fashion runway experience at LMNT Arts in the heart of Midtown Miami.
Presented by Northwestern Mutual, Starlight’s Fashion Scene Miami will feature a full designer runway presentation of international couture by Isabel Riera and Fabrizio DeCastro; exotic autos; a fashion collective of pop-up boutiques; succulent spirits and culinary delights from local restaurants; incredible photos; artwork and more. 100 percent of the revenue generated from the event will benefit Starlight Children’s Foundation, which partners with experts to improve the life and health of kids and families around the world.
“For 30 years Starlight has innovated ways to improve the hospital experience for hospitalized children,” says Robert Peters, Starlight Southeast Region Director. “From our Starlight Fun Centers and Starlight Tablets to Starlight’s new Wish List program, we create ways for individuals and organizations to make a positive impact on the life and health of pediatric patients.”
Starlight Children’s Foundation is proud to be honoring Miami Children’s Hospital’s Dr. Mislen Bauer, Director of Clinical Genetics & Metabolism and Dr. Jose Rosa-Olivares, Director of Pediatric Care Center at Fashion Scene Miami for their well-recognized leadership in caring for pediatric patients with chronic health conditions.
Through our involvement with Starlight, we’ve seen the impact that simple things can have on a family with a child battling cancer,” said Kevin Lawhon, managing partner, Northwestern Mutual, The South Florida Group. “We’re proud to be a part of the Starlight family, and presenting sponsor of their 30th anniversary celebration – helping to ease some of that emotional burden along the way for such inspiring families.”
