Snow Days Sets Dates – Coconut Grove to Host Holiday Events

By John Kiskinis….
Coconut Grove’s popular Snow Days kicks-off this December 4 with a host of activities planned for families to enjoy. Youngsters will have the chance to build snowmen, make snow angels and even launch a snowball or two as six tons of snow will transform Virginia Street into a winter wonderland. It runs from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The tropical blizzard continues the following Saturday, December 11 along Fuller Street between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

“Last year’s Snow Days brought over 1,000 families into the Grove to spend the day and frolic in the snow,” said David Collins, executive director of the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District (BID). “Many of our Grove’s businesses and restaurants participated by offering special promotions making it a communitywide event. And they will be offering their support again this year.”

The festivities will begin with Santa Claus and Frosty arriving in true Coconut Grove fashion by rickshaw and opening the gates to snow areas at 11 a.m.

Snow Days is presented by the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District (BID) and participating merchants.
