Coconut Grove Flowers Change With The Season

Cooler temperatures with less precipitation aren’t the only signs that winter will soon be upon us. More than 100 beautiful hanging decorative flower baskets that adorn Coconut Grove’s streets will also be making the seasonal change.

The new basket designs, featuring petunias in bright purple, bright pink and light pink colors, are expected in early November. Two baskets will decorate each of the Village’s 50 lamp posts along Grand Avenue, Commodore Plaza and Fuller and McFarlane roads.

“South Florida is celebrated for many of its natural wonders, but the changing of the seasons is traditionally overlooked,” said David Collins, executive director of the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District (BID). “These flowers will help to create that experience as our Village prepares to welcome thousands of visitors this Holiday Season.”

The Coconut Grove BID exists to improve the quality and financial success of the Grove’s commercial core. It enhances Grove parking, lighting, sanitation, marketing, and safety, as well as supporting special events.
