HistoryMiami appoints Holly Davis as vice president of advancement

HistoryMiami recently appointed Holly Davis as vice president of advancement. Davis will provide strategic leadership for the museum’s advancement program including developing support from individuals, corporations and foundations.

“My goal is to increase HistoryMiami’s resources to enable the recently expanded museum to exhibit and preserve the history of the diverse people who have made South Florida their home,” Davis said. “I am very excited by this opportunity.”

Prior to accepting the role at HistoryMiami, Davis was the deputy director of development at the Norton Museum of Art in Palm Beach.

“It is such a pleasure to welcome Holly to HistoryMiami,” said HistoryMiami chair Phillip M. Hudson III. “Her leadership and extensive expertise with working in advancement and within the cultural sector will have a tremendous impact on the museum, helping us to achieve our future goals.”

A resident of Coconut Grove, Davis received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University and her JD from the University of Chicago Law School. Davis began her career at the University of Chicago Law School where she was assistant dean for alumni relations and development.

Before joining the Norton, Davis served as the assistant dean for advancement for the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami where she designed and implemented the college’s successful $40 million share of the University’s Momentum2 capital campaign.
