Wood & Belsher: Fire & Embers at Aventura Arts & Cultural Center

Tickets are on sale for the sensational jigs and reels performance of Richard Wood & Gordon Belsher: Fire & Embers which will take the stage on Wednesday, March 12, 8 p.m. at theAventura Arts&Cultural Center.

Fiery Prince Edward Island fiddler Richard Wood has lit up stages from Carnegie Hall (with the Chieftains) to David Letterman (with Shania Twain). Over the years, Wood also has graced stages for royalty including the Queen of England, the Emperor of Japan, and Canada’s Governor General. Most recently, he performed for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during their Canadian visit to his home province.

Gordon Belsher brings glowing warmth to his performances with a gentle charm that has become his trademark. His solo CDs have been nominated for Canada’s East Coast Music Awards. As accompanist and featured vocalist with Richard Wood, Belsher has toured extensively across Canada, the U.S., the U.K., Europe and Australia, as well as performed as part of the cultural delegation for 1999 Team Canada in Tokyo.

During the past several years, Wood and Belsher have been performing and touring as a duo. Enthusiastic audiences have been taken on a roller coaster ride of exhilarating jigs and reels, strathspeys and hornpipes, along with beautiful airs composed by Wood himself.
