U.S. Century Bank’s Aventura branch, at 18201 Biscayne Blvd., was the setting for the most recent Aventura SpeedBiz Meeting, the popular networking event presented by the Aventura Marketing Council’s Small Business Development Committee.

The morning began with coffee and bagels provided by Mo’s Bagels, then segued into everybody’s favorite meet-andgreet, Lightning Biz – like speed dating for your business, only better. “This type of event always goes well,” says Branch Manager Margarita LaMadrid. “The business leads AMC members gain is priceless.”

Paying attention to the needs of the community has helped U.S. Century Bank grow to 25 branches throughout Miami- Dade and Broward counties since 2002. It’s now one of the largest community banks headquartered in Miami, with assets of close to $2 billion.

“Our customers can rely on our financial strength, local expertise and personalized service to deliver customer-driven banking solutions that will help them achieve personal and business financial goals,” LaMadrid says. “We specialize in serving the needs of South Florida’s business and entrepreneurial community.” Networking with community entrepreneurs at SpeedBiz, she says, helps her stay in touch with those needs.

“We use the opportunity to meet as many people from the area as we can,” she says. LaMadrid’s community involvement doesn’t end there. She’s this year’s chair of the Shining Stars Gala for the South Florida Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as well as part of the steering committee for the March of Dimes.
