As Miami is gearing up for one of the hottest annual tennis events, The Sony Open Tennis, March 17-30, 2014, Turnberry Isle Miami continues its focus on world-class tennis year round with the exclusive Cañas Tennis program.
Resort guests and club members have the opportunity to receive first-class tennis instruction, where the program is overseen by Guillermo Cañas, one of the most recognizable tennis figures in the world.
Cañas has won seven ATP singles championships since 1995, including wins over Roger Federer, Tommy Haas and Andy Roddick.
As part of the partnership, guests and members of the property have access to private lessons, group clinics for all skill levels and ages, pro-am tournaments, special events and summer camps, as well as a community match-play program, which all feature the Cañas Tennis instructors.
Turnberry Isle Miami offers a state-ofthe- art tennis facility featuring a Tennis Shop stocked with player essentials and the latest gear, four clay HydroCourts, which are lit for evening play and eight additional hard courts at the Turnberry Marina.
Turnberry Isle Miami’s facilities have hosted a number of elite tennis professionals, including Jimmy Connors, but are ideal for players of all levels.
Rates for private lessons start at $100 per hour with Turnberry Pros and $300 per hour with Cañas, while daily clinics begin at $40. Day-to-day operations of the program are overseen by Tennis Director and co-founder of Cañas Tennis, Gustavo Oribe.
