One Place, Many Opportunities

Running a successful condominium or cooperative community is a challenge—one often made more difficult by the sheer number of vendors, service providers, and other professionals that association board members and property managers must coordinate with to address their community’s needs. The upcoming Condo, HOA, Co-op & Apt. Expo is more than just a trade show—it makes a tough job immeasurably easier by assembling representatives from every corner of the condo service industry in one place, and in one location.

Expo exhibitors will have representatives on hand to answer questions, distribute information, and offer expert advice to attendees throughout the day, said Henry Robbins, executive vice president of Yale Robbins, Inc., which publishes The South Florida Cooperator and produces the Expo. “If your condo or community association has been in the market for a new CPA or landscaping firm, or if you have a question about how you can cut down on electricity or maintenance costs, you can put down the phone and log off the web—just come to the Expo, and meet prospective vendors face-to-face, all in one day at one convenient location,” Robbins said.

CEU’s and More

One of the main attractions for attendees are the educational seminars offered throughout the day, many of which that provide board certification credit and CEUs just for attending.
Leading off will be a pre-show event—a board certification seminar—presented by Attorney Eric Glazer of Glazer & Associates, P.A. from 7:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Pre-registration is required for Glazer’s Condo Craze & HOA’s Board Certification Course.

The day’s panels will also include “Can You Hear Me Now? Improving Board/Management Communication,” sponsored by Associa; “Governing Smart—Mastering the Business of Your Association,” sponsored by the law firm of PeytonBolin, PL; “Small Game Hunting: Pest Control in Multifamily Buildings,” sponsored by The South Florida Cooperator; “Community Association Collections and Accounts Receivable,” sponsored by SNAP Collections, which is eligible for CEU credit; “Stop False Alarms and Unwanted Fees,” sponsored by Absolute Fire Protection; and “The Do’s and Don’ts of Budgeting and Reserves—What You Need to Know,” sponsored by The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, which offers CEU credits for community association managers. Seminars for apartment building owners and managers include “Are You Ready? Preparing for Emergencies” and “Whose Job is It? Taking Responsibility for Maintenance Issues,” sponsored by The South Florida Cooperator.

In a world where nothing is free, you can also get free advice! Legal, management, insurance and financial service professionals will be on hand all day to provide free advice to attendees. A full service food court will also offer plenty of space to relax between booth visits and seminars.

Prizes, Prizes!

And don’t forget about our fabulous Grand Prize! One lucky board member in attendance can win a $2,500 contribution to their building or association’s reserve fund. One winner will be chosen at random after registration has closed and will be notified via email or phone of their good fortune.
