In honor of the 100th anniversary of Joe DiMaggio’s birth, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital will be presenting the first Joe DiMaggio American Icon Award to an individual who represents the highest of values for which Joe DiMaggio stood.

Recipient of the inaugural Joe DiMaggio American Icon Award will be presented to President Bill Clinton, Founder of the Clinton Foundation and 42nd President of the United States.

For 25 years, the Memorial Classic/Joe DiMaggio Legends Game was a major charity event, raising millions of dollars for the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation and helping thousands of children. The inaugural Joe DiMaggio American Icon Award event will carry on this baseball tradition, and former major league baseball players will be in attendance to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of Joe DiMaggio’s birthday.

The award will be presented on the evening of Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Don Taft University Center on the campus of Nova Southeastern University, located at 3301 College Avenue, Davie.
