The Allies for Ahava group of the Southeast Region of Bnai Zion recently launched a fundraising campaign with a networking event at Ocean Prime Restaurant in Aventura Mall. The campaign’s mission is to fund construction of therapy facilities at Ahava Village for Children and Youth in Kiryat Bialik, Israel.

The goal for this event was to bring our group together, create awareness for the Allies for Ahava and give everyone an opportunity to learn more about the Ahava Village, says Eileen Glastein, director of the Southeast Region for the Bnai Zion Foundation.

“Many young professionals from all areas of business came out to celebrate with us,” she says. “The ambience at Ocean Prime put everyone in the mood for socializing. Everyone had fun getting to know one another, and we expanded the number of delegates involved in this project. So the evening was an enormous success.”

Featured speaker for the gathering was Chen Tal.

“Mr. Tal is one of our local Israeli businessmen who is quite familiar with Ahava Village,” Glastein says. “In fact, Chen donated several horses for the children there to take care of and ride. He was a very interesting speaker.”

Ahava Village is designed to help children overcome the stresses of severely dysfunctional backgrounds by offering apartment-style residences and a variety of activities and therapies.

Glastein says the overall goal of Allies for Ahava is to enrich the lives of the children there.

“We simply want those children to succeed despite the many challenges life has thrown them,” she says.

Glastein says each Allies for Ahava delegate will sponsor events to achieve fundraising goals. “This campaign is a blessing for the children and an opportunity of a lifetime for the delegates,” she says.
