Invicta Watch Group Tour de Broward supports Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital

Imagine knowing that the only way your child could survive would be through an organ donation – the heart from another precious child whose life ended too soon. Imagine being a teenager and passing out during your school football game. After an ambulance ride to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, you soon learn that you have a congenital heart problem that you never knew you had.

The Cardiac Center at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital has been ever present for all of these patients, their families and many others through the years. Yet, the needs of the Cardiac Center are ever greater.

Invicta Watch Group Tour de Broward, presented by zMotion, is also sponsored by ANF Construction Group, United Healthcare, One Beat CPR and other outstanding community Organizations will benefit the Cardiac Center in 2013, helping to continue the mission to save lives and provide the critical care that many of these patients require.

National statistics show that congenital heart defects are the most common types of birth defects in the United States. They affect nearly 40,000 infants born in the United States each year. Fundraising proceeds and donations to Cardiac Center are used to purchase high-tech equipment and provide emergency assistance to families.

Tour de Broward will take place on Sunday, February 24th, 7 a.m. at Miramar Regional Park, located at 16801 Miramar Parkway, Miramar 33027. Three main events will take place, including a 3K FamilyWalk & 5K Run Timed Run, Cycling challenges and The Power of Play Kids Zone
