AVENTURA Magazine’s 15th Anniversary Casino Night Celebration held on September 25th featured special guest, Miami HEAT Point Guard Mario Chalmers at Sport of Kings at Gulfstream Park. Over 250 people joined Chalmers for this charity event which raised over $10,000 for his foundation that creates and supports community- based programs encouraging the positive development of youth through sports and education, as well as funding initiatives for breast cancer research and treatment. Raising funds for women with breast cancer has been important to Mario ever since a dear childhood friend’s mother passed away from the disease a number of years ago. Throughout the evening, guests tried their hand at roulette, blackjack, poker and craps while enjoying a fabulous dinner, and cocktails courtesy of Premier Beverage.
Guests applauded Michael Stern and Amit and David Bloom, partners at Stern Bloom Media and publishers of AVENTURA Magazine, on the momentous 15- year milestone. Founded in 1998, AVENTURA Magazine has established itself within the region as the source for thought-provoking and entertaining editorial, exciting layouts, and high visibility for advertisers.
The upscale glossy publication (and its interactive digital version available at the App store for iPad) has readers laughing, clues them in on trends in dining, fashion and fun, and features the hottest celebrities, local notables and businesses. The magazine featured President Bill Clinton on the March/April 2001 cover and has since portrayed prominent celebrities including George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, KateWinslet, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jennifer Lopez.
Highlights of the evening included welcome speeches by Stern and Chalmers. In addition, there was a fabulous live auction raising money, for the Mario Chalmers Foundation, featuring an extraordinary Miami HEAT experience won by Zach Hoffman, Founder & CEO of Exults Internet Marketing; a premium concert and theater package courtesy of SitInMySeats VIP Tickets, Travel & Concierge Services, won by Ken Hendel, owner of Gallery Art and a Custom Car Wrap, courtesy of MetroSigns, won by Ralph Jorge of Specialty Automotive Treatments. AVENTURA Magazine also raffled off an array of magnificent luxury items. All proceeds from the event benefited the Mario V. Chalmers Foundation.
