According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, motor vehicle injuries are a leading cause of death among children in the United States. But many of these deaths can be prevented. Properly buckling children in age- and size-appropriate car seats, booster seats and seat belts reduces the risk of serious and fatal injuries by 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers. Not only do car seats save lives, children are required to be restrained by car seats under Florida law. Neufeld drove his precious cargo home with him on Mother’s Day 2014 and drove home confident that his children were fastened properly in his vehicle.
