The Cutler Bay Business Association has new board members

The Cutler Bay Business Association (CBBA) used its February meeting, which had a Valentine’s Day theme, to introduce its newly installed board members. Attending the meeting were Juana Martinez of Isagenix, Intl., Andres Espinoza of Ez Lock Shutters, Claudia Zamora of Marriott Courtyard, Cyndi Rogg of National Karate Academy, Carlos Vasquez of Sunstate Bank, Cristina Mistri of Poggesi USA-Under One Umbrella, Kevin Kaufman of Gen-Ex Builders and Patricia Farina of Y. I Sew. Three other board members who were not present were Darryl Boyette of Creative Cyberwebs, Valerie Henry of University Credit Union and Andres Angulo of Royal Palm Island of Cutler Bay.

Cyndi Rogg, also the president of the CBBA, tells us, “Our new board of directors is very motivated and committed to making this new year a new beginning for the Cutler Bay Business Association. We have some interesting speakers and topics lined up for our luncheon meetings.

For our March 12th meeting we are honored to be hosting Peggy Bell our new Mayor, and our new County Commissioner, Daniella Levine Cava. We are also very excited to start planning for the 2015 Taste of the Bay. Look for upcoming announcements of that soon.”

Mayor Peggy Bell was on hand for the February gathering and told us afterwards, “After a recent trip to our State Capital I had the pleasure of attending the monthly meeting of the CBBA. I gave a brief update on the items I addressed with the legislators in Tallahassee. At their March 12 luncheon meeting I will be giving a more in depth account of what is going on in the town. The Cutler Bay Business Association is a wonderful forum for business owners to meet each other and develop good business relationships. These folks work hard to promote Cutler Bay and the business community in particular. I am glad to see Cyndi Rogg is coming back as President, along with some new members this year. Our businesses are vital to the success of our town. I am working to create a citizen committee that will explore ways to promote and market our town to attract new businesses, as well as ways to support and promote our existing businesses.”

Speaking of meetings, and we know this is short notice, the Concerned Citizens of Cutler Bay will have their March meeting on Tuesday, March 3, from 7-9 p.m. Representatives from Fairchild Tropical Gardens will speak about their Million Orchid Project. “This project aims to propagate and re-establish native orchids locally, enhancing the beauty and bio-diversity of our environment. It promises to be informative and interesting,” says Steve Zarzecki. “Admission is free. Coffee and Donuts will be served. All are welcome.” The meeting takes place in the Fellowship Hall of the Cutler Ridge United Methodist Church, 20740 Old Cutler Road.
